How much does it cost to rush?
All of our events are completely free! We'll even provide transportation if needed.
Why should I rush?
Rush is a great way to meet new people, especially for those attending college for their first year. Our events are fun, and all are non-obligatory to rushees. Also, participating in rush allows potential new members to see that Sigmas don't necessarily fit into the typical "sorority stereotypes". Rather, each member adds her own quirkiness to the sisterhood.
What is a bid?
A bid is an extension to join our sorority. In order to qualify, you must attend at least 2 rush events, fill out an application, and complete an interview. We extend bids via phone call after our last rush event, which you may either accept or decline.
Why Sigma Phi Omega?
Being in a sorority not only allows young women to create strong friendships and a lifetime of memories, it also helps them adjust to college life and expand their network of peers. In addition, we strive to improve academic and leadership skills while also giving back to the community.
What is a Big Sister and Pledge Mom?
A big sister and pledge mom are girls who help guide you through the semester. Each girl will get their own big sister and each class will get one pledge mom.
